Meine Ehre heißt Treue

(My Honor is Loyalty)

 

In the beginning years of Nazi Germany, the SS used these words to demonstrate their feelings of loyalty to Adolf Hitler. Later in the war, as the Waffen-SS began to fight for its life on the eastern front and later in the west, these words began to remind the Waffen-SS Soldaten of their loyalty and commitment to each other as brothers and Kameraden. It is this association that we are honoring when we recite the words, “Meine Ehre heist Treue”.
